Well, the first stage in delivering your bespoke joinery project is the initial enquiry.

We have created a set of easy-to-answer questions in a form, where we can get the initial information that we need to consider how we can help with your project.

Knowing some key information from the start helps us to streamline the design process. Once we receive the enquiry form, we review the information and check it’s something that we’re a good fit for, and do a bit of research into suitable materials and maybe find some reference images that will help with discussions.

How Long Does a Bespoke Joinery Project Take?

Consultation

Following this, we arrange a design consultation at the property- the most important part of this, is to get the brief exactly right. We do this by comparing reference images and with detailed discussions and purposeful questioning on what’s most important to you about the project, what you want to achieve, that kind of thing- so that we’re completely aligned with your vision.

We will then put together some 3d images with our initial design concepts. We normally allow a week to put these joins together sometimes it could be more depending on whether you’re working whether we are working on multiple projects in your property, and obviously the complexity that’s involved as well.

The duration of this phase comes down to how long this takes to approve our designs and whether we hit the mark first time (we often do!) or if we need to do multiple revisions to make sure that your vision is guaranteed to come to fruition.

Once designs are approved, we move into production. We are usually able to complete manufacture within around six weeks, but again, this depends on the scale and complexity of the project, alongside capacity in the workshop. We make sure to give you an installation window at the point of committed to the project.

We are able to install most domestic projects within a day or two, or longer for large or multi-room projects. We advise on this earlier in the process so you know what to expect!

“But I need it this week!”

Well, we’ve managed to turn around projects extremely quickly, and have accommodated even the most outrageous requests from time to time (usually when clients have been let down.) However, this is not something we enjoy, or encourage for the following reasons:

  • We have a busy workshop- squeezing in projects can have a knock-on effect on other work. Of course, we get the occasional void where clients have had to delay installations, but please don’t count on this!
  • What if it goes wrong? Sometimes, especially when in a hurry- mistakes can happen. The wrong material arrives, something is scratched and needs rejecting, a machine can break down… there is a lot involved. We prefer to allow some time to overcome these potential problems to ensure we can deliver our projects on brief and on time.
  • Hand crafted, bespoke items require time, care and attention to detail- this takes time to execute well and quality is very important to us!
  • Perfect delivery of a project begins with well-considered design- the success of a project starts in the planning, rushing this part can cause mistakes, lack of clarity with interpreting your vision, and costly oversights.

Please allow plenty of time for us to help design, plan, manufacture and install your special project- it will be well worth it!
