Project brief:
To create four modular podcast desks that could be utilised in a variety of configurations depending on the number of guests, with customisable lighting to suit different branding.
Our Approach
When the owner of a brand new co-working space contacted us, looking for a partner to deliver their podcast desk idea- we couldn’t wait to get involved! They had a vision in mind, but were unable to source a suitable product- so trusted us to create a professional piece of furniture to give a ‘wow’ effect in their new podcast studio- whilst also meeting all of the technical requirements that a high-quality recording studio demands.
The first thing was to identify the key requirements for the desks, including technical aspects, cable routing, seating height, material choice and finish, and layout options. We spent some time working out the ideal dimensions for the desks based on the floorspace available- with such a versatile recording room with different focal points, space is at a premium. It was especially important to maintain a relaxed and spacious look for podcast guests, whilst also ensuring that everyone could be captured from multiple camera angles.
We mocked up images of the desks, and provided samples of the oak finish to ensure our client would receive exactly what they were expecting.
