Bespoke commercial joinery

Objective – Find a solution with Bespoke Commercial joinery:

We were approached by one of our long-standing upholstery clients, to support their project, in the creation of a very special joinery piece. We were asked to fabricate a curved screen that would encase their sumptuous fixed seating, creating five alternating booths and adding to the luxury feel of the new and exclusive club at Heathrow Airport.

The end client had a very clear vision of what they wanted to achieve, and every aspect of this project was made specifically to accomplish this.

The mission:
To create a bespoke screen to combine a sense of privacy, whilst still enjoying views of the runway.

Our Approach:

We had meetings with our upholstery client to discuss the best approach for this piece, which involved incorporating bespoke commercial joinery techniques. We created templates to ensure that each of the five seating booths would seamlessly merge both the seating and screens together perfectly.

Additionally, we ensured that the entire piece would assemble easily and seamlessly on site. 355 Beech dowels, tailored to 30mm to suit the design, were machined for this purpose. These dowels were then fastened to 10 curved rails. Once connected on site, this bespoke commercial joinery would create the five booths, winding their way through the room as one cohesive unit.

The Outcome – Bespoke commercial joinery delivered!

We were able to ensure that all assemblies were delivered to our client in time to take to site and install, and everything fitted together like a glove.

The end result was spectacular, especially in this unique setting. The finished result looks just like the initial visual renders. This was a very rewarding project and the combination of our elegant spindles and the luxurious seating within, has created a stand out piece in this special location.

Whilst many projects can be delivered by one contractor, it’s important to have a network of complimentary suppliers that you can work with, communicate with and rely on- this project was a great example of our ability to work alongside others and achieve a great result together!
