Bespoke joinery package for a large property and construction consultancy practice in Warrington
Bespoke commercial joinery
Client:
Architect Practice in Warrington
Built, Delivered & Installed
Project brief:
Designing and creating several custom joinery pieces to feature in this large renovation to showcase the versatility and top-notch service the company provides to their cleints
Objective – Find a solution with Bespoke Commercial joinery:
We were asked to deliver several elements for our client, including a solid surface reception desk (with an integrated coffee machine and a tree!), several tambour units with planters above, large storage cabinets, a boardroom sideboard and also storage in a shower room.
The tambour units had a few functional requirements- storage (including one to house a large printer), a biophilic element to enhance the feel of the space, and also to act as privacy screens between meeting rooms and office desks.
The mission:
The pieces had to be designed to impress prospective clients when they visit the offices.
Our Approach:
Our client’s in-house interior designers had created some initial drawings for each piece, and we worked closely with them to consider on appropriate finishes and translate these ideas into working joinery drawings for approval. We provided samples for materials and shared 3d drawings to confirm the details of the different feature pieces.
The materials used consisted of a mixture of natural timber, MFC and solid surface- and it was clear from the start that the client required a perfect result as this space will be used not only for staff to work, but also as a show-home for new clients to visit to discover the high quality this company provides.
We communicated frequently with the client to accommodate their schedule and to synchronise with other contractors- such as scenic planters and the integrated coffee machine installation.
The Outcome – Bespoke commercial joinery delivered!
Good design from the outset, was key for this project. The continuous communication between everyone involved ensured that each element met the design brief and integrated well with other structural elements, services etc.
The reception desk gives an initial WOW factor for visitors- two solid surface materials forming different shapes and delivering functionality within. We love the tree our client chose! The boardroom sideboard was designed to complement other timber elements in the area, and a decision to switch the worktop to a black solid surface ensured a bold yet subtle, high-end feel to this piece. Our pieces shared certain tones such as the light grey, and this is carried through the whole office area- tying everything together harmoniously and creating a defined theme- broken up with vibrant planting, everything looks great and will make a fantastic work environment.
This was a very enjoyable project for several reasons- the design was top-notch, and it’s always a pleasure working on design-led projects. The clients are architects, and interior designers- real experts in their field. They (rightly) demanded high standards throughout every element of their project, and this resulted in rewarding work. It’s great working for clients that know exactly what they want, and also appreciate the detail and effort that goes into creating and delivering projects such as this one!
